Study On Hand-Painted Decoration Of Traditional Chinese Furniture

The hand-painted decoration of traditional Chinese furniture is time-honored and magnificent. Many works that will be handed on from age to age are amazing. However, under the impact of modern technology, it is a common phenomenon that more and more new furniture products are lacking of decoration diversity. By means of illustrations, comparisons and reasoning, it compares the hand-painted decoration of Chinese traditional furniture with the decoration methods such as sculpture, inlay and pyrography, etc, showing that the hand-painted decoration is realistic and communicative, with national characters. It analyzes the hand-painted decoration patterns of traditional Chinese furniture, pointing out the symmetrical, balanced and rhythmic beauty in its composition. It is abundant and diversified in its themes, including the dermatoglyphic pattern design, animals, god beasts and semi-abstract designs, and the themes of nature and life. It does some analysis on the techniques of the hand-painted decorations by analyzing the hand-painted materials and technology and so on.The results show that the hand-painted decoration is an effective way in the furniture decoration. It suggests that the hand-painted decoration of furniture can be more practical through the diversification of themes and styles. It also points out that its inclusive development of materials, techniques and design concepts makes the hand-painted decorations pass and develop in the new times.
