The Research Of Environmental Monitoring Measures To Lead-acid Battery Industry

Lead is one of ten categories of pollutants that threat to human health in current. According to statistics, the amount of lead production is 560 million tons annually, the consumption and usage amount is 3 million tons annually. Lead is a widespread non-degradable environmental pollutants, and long-term accumulation in the environment. It can enter the body through the food chain, soil, water and air. In natural environment, the amount of lead is in a low level, the lead burden and human intake increased is mainly caused by environmental lead pollution.In the lead-related industry, Lead-acid battery manufacturer is the industry that it has relatively large lead pollutants, and more serious environmental impact. Especially in China, There are lots of situations about lead-acid battery manufacturers' irregularities on lead pollution treatment and pollution control on the surrounding environment. Even more worrying is that there are still some small extensive type lead-acid battery production enterprises in China,and they are the main culprit in lead pollution.At the beginning of this year, according to the environmental issue from Lead-related industry , especially Lead-acid battery manufacturers in our country, the State Council formally replied "The Plan of Heavy Metal Pollution's Comprehensive Prevention and Treatment(2011-2015)". In this plan, the stringent control of Key area's Lead pollutant emissions was proposed. For heavy metal pollution, environmental protection ministry would amend the relevant standards in environmental quality, emissions, monitoring standards, samples, cleaner production, environmental impact assessment and environmental information.Environmental Monitoring has been one of most effective works of environmental protection. In order to ensure the successful progress of planning, Environmental Monitoring to Lead-related industry, especially Lead-acid battery manufacturers must be carried out carefully and well.In this paper, the lead pollution feature, harm, source and treatment methods were summarized. Through the review of Northeastern battery factory's lead pollution situation, we can get a comprehensive understanding of the lead emissions, and also get a evaluation and conclusion. The paper proposed the development of the battery industry through the above research.
