The electrode-capacitors for purification of organic wastewater include two-dimension electrode capacitor and three-dimension electrode capacitor. Three-dimension electrode capacitor is based on two-dimension electrode capacitor by filling with conductive particles and insulative particles to enhance the degradation effect of organic pollutants. In this dissertation, two-dimension electrode capacitor was firstly fabricated and tested for degradation of organic pollutants under different conditions. Under the best condition, the composite of metal oxide catalyst loaded on bamboo-charcoal was filled into the as-obtained two-dimension electrode capacitor to prepare three-dimension electrode capacitor for further research on degradation of organic waste in pollutants. The best condition of the as-obtained two-dimension electrode capacitor for organic waste has been obtained as follows: the voltage is 7V, the catalyst is cobaltous oxide, the organic waste is basic fuchsin, and the electrolyte concentration is 0.1g/L. The corresponding degradation rate of basic fuchsin with 4h reaction is 51.26%.Three-dimension electrode capacitor was fabricated by loading bamboo-charcoal with metal oxide catalyst as filling composite. The effects of calcination temperature, type of organic pollutant. organic pollutant concentration, applied voltage, as well as electrolyte concentration on the degradation of organic waste were investigated in detail. The optimal condition for bamboo-charcoal loaded ferrous catalyst has been obtained as follows: the calcination temperature is 400℃, the organic waste is basic fuchsin, the organic waste concentration is 5mg/L, the applied voltage is 1V, and the amount of electrolyte is 0.7g. The corresponding degradation rate is 66.7% for 4h, which is (58.63%) higher than that 8.07%of capacitor with only bamboo-charcoal as filling material. The bamboo-charcoal loaded by cobaltous oxide catalyst calcined at 600℃exhibits the best elimination rate of organic pollutants with the applied voltage of 7V. The elimination rate of basic fuchsin is 88.83%. The elimination of methyl orange under the same condition shows the highest effect, and the elimination rate is up to 100%.The obtained results show that by introducing baoboo-charcoal into two-dimension electrode capacitor to form three-dimension electrode capacitor, the effective area of electrode and adsorptive capacity can be enhanced, so as to improve the elimination rate of organic waste. By loading metal oxide catalyst onto the bamboo-charcoal carrier in the three-dimension system, the high specific area, the strong adsorptive capacity, and the good catalytic degradation performance of metal oxide catalyst can be combined to further improve the degradation activity of three-dimension electrode capacitor.
