| There are many kinds of materials. In order to realize and use them, this paper, based on chemical composition, production process, and structure and features, seprates materials in three groups:metallic, inorganic non-metallic, and organic polymer materials. These three groups overlap and contain with each other. Any two kinds or more than two kinds can composite together creates composite materials, which can be called the fourth kind of materials.Meanwhile, in each above mentioned "A classification", lots of "B classications" and "C classiciations"are included. Different materials have different features and functions. Therefore, how to lock the right one in vast material kinds needs new methods. Traditional manual serch is too complexed and time consuming. If using computer to manage these information, efficiency can be improved dramatically and safely. Information management by computer is closely related to the information system development. System development is the premise of system management.This paper classifies materials thoroughly, and generalizes their applications and features. According to the research outcomings, this paper designs a set of information management system to classify materials and optimize serch process. This can help find and position wanted materials'information promoptly; achieve fuctions, such as, category management, mataining, files management, information management, inventory statistics, material reports, and printing etc.; and meet the needs of comprehensive management. The system will surely serve well for managers and researchers in decision making process. |
