The catalyst for vinyl acetate by ethylene acetoxylation has been developed in this dissertation. With the present condition of industrial production, by the comparison and selection of the shape of the catalyst carrier, and properly increasing the amount of catalytic reactive component, at the same time keeping an appropriate Pd/Au atomic proportion, the type CTV-V catalyst for vinyl acetate in which reactive components are distributed like egg shell has been obtained on the base of type CTV-Ⅳcatalyst. As a result, the type CTV-V catalyst presents an obviously better catalytic performance. All the laboratory research and the pilot test gave a similar result, the preparation technique of the type CTV-V catalyst was steady and showed good repetition. The initial result from the 900ml catalyst testing unit indicated that performance of the type CTV-V catalyst has been greatly improved, in which the activeness has been increased by more than 46%, and the selectivity by more than 94%. The type CTV-V catalyst can meet the mighty demand for 150k ton/annual in SPC PVA plant. Besides the research developed a analysis testing approach of trace iodine which has great influence on catalyst. The experiment of acetic acid via carbonylation with various types of catalysts on different plants showed that iodine in unremoral deeply had great influence on the activeness and life-span of vinyl acetate Catalyst and the influence increases with the density of iodine.
