Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, the science and technology have been rapidly developed and the electronics technology and information technology have been widely used in all kinds of fields. The idea of constructing "intelligent microenvironment" on the base of smart textiles has made the study of smart textiles become a hot research topic within the forefront of textile technology. Smart textiles combine microelectronics, information, computer technology into textile substrates. Their actuating units and control units are usually driven by sophisticated hardware control technologies, such as the micro-electronics and computer chips. Using textiles to replace computer chips is a key element which determines not only the intelligent performance but also the comfort performance of textiles. Based on domestic and international theoretical studies about conductive smart textiles, this research work intended to fabricate flexible electronic components. The specific purposes are to produce electrical perdurable conducting PPy fabrics containing conductivity gradient and to provide a good foundation for the preparation of flexible, dressed smart textiles.Using the method of vapor deposition under low temperature and pressure, electrical conducting fabrics have therefore been fabricated with acrylic weft knitted fabrics as the substrates and pyrrole as the conducting polymer. Then the conductive fabrics undergo rinse with the distilled water, ethanol solution and dilute oxalic acid solution respectively followed by being stored in the normal and seal condition. After the comparison with the conductive fabric without any rinse, the optimum rinsing solution and storage condition have been found out that. Further more, the optimum rinsing solution has been used to rinse the conductive fabrics gained by control the air pressure with the self-designed device during the polymerization. The electrical stability of conductive fabrics stored under the normal as well as the sealed condition is analyzed. Also the acrylic weft knitted fabrics are used as the substrates. The fabrics are covered by medical tape strips, plastic tape strips and methyl cyclohexanes titanium dioxide (correction fluid) respectively with an gradually changing covering area along the fabric directions. The fabrics are then coated by PPy by chemical vapor deposition processing under low temperature and low pressure conditions. After testing the resistance of different areas and it has been found that changes with the PPy covering area would result in an electrical conductivity gradient. There is a linear relationship between the conducting rate and covering area. The experimental results show that the data of this experiment are helpful for the preparation of accurate, multilevel gradient resistance gradient fabric. The substrates with gradually changing structures have been prepared by moving the loops, changing the numbers when knitting, and changing the numbers of needles when knitting. These fabrics are coated by PPy with chemical vapor deposition processing under low temperature and low pressure conditions. After testing the electrical resistances of all areas of these fabrics, it has been found that the gradient of electrical resistance is closely related to the fabric structure. This experiment shows that fabrication of fabrics with accurate, multilevel gradient resistance gradient can also be achieved by using appropriate structures of substrates. The experimental approach, the experimental data and the mode of thinking in this research work have provided important and valuable theoretical and practical bases for further development of smart textiles.
