Damping material is a new functional materials with absorbing mechanical energy into heat and taking it the loss. Polymer materials is widely used in damping materialbecause of its unique structure. The relaxation of macromolecular chain of Polymers has a strong athletic ability and can have a very strong internal friction in the glass transition temperature Tg.Damping properties of damping materials is closely related to the structures and the use of the material itself ,temperature and frequency . Large macromolecular chain with the side groups, strongly polar substituents, the more number of side groups in the movement chain can significantly increase the friction, then significantly improve the damping effect. Lower crosslink density will increase the damping effect.In addition to the damping properties related to the structure with itself, but also to fillers a very important relationship. Fillres whose the most significant impact is in high concentration widing the glass transition zone . The advantage of Polyurethane (PU) as damping materials can adjuste the ratio of soft and hard segment domain to obtain wide temperature range, high-performance damping materials.In this paper, based on consulting a large number of previous work, a practical design concept is introduced. a number of multi-functional polyether polyols are in the cross-linked polyurethane networks, which contains multiple functional groups of the macromolecules between the main cross-linked network of molecules of polyurethane. when the material under the action of an alternating field, it can generate the main dynamic mechanical properties of materials which is different from the cross-linked network structure, improving energy consumption after Tg and increase the PU material damping factor after the Tg and broading the effective damping temperature range of PU. In this paper, the system of the PU elastomer adde a liquid containing sterically hindered diamine chain extender and processed specialty fillers, prepared a new type of damping polyurethane (PU) damping materials. Discussed a number of functional groups of polyether polyols for PU elastomer damping properties of the mechanism, and its dynamic performance and type of hard segment and cross-linking agent ratio analysis of the links between research, while the number of different projects and Content of mica and other fillers and flame retardants for polyurethane damping.In this paper, though a large number of test, the hard segment structure from the mixed performance of PU material with MDI and PAPI prepolymer is prepared to discuss the mixing ratio on the damping properties of phase separation. The results show that by adjusting the mixing ratio of different hard segment can be adjusted the damping and mechanical properties of polyurethane (PU) that can flexibly control the effective temperature range of damping materials.
