In the reaction process of alkylation, micro-water in mixed carbon four is the main impurities of acid consumptions. Dehydrating deeply to mixed carbon four, the water content from 200 mg/kg reduced to 20 mg/kg, it can reduce the acid consumption capacity of sulfuric acid in alkylation unit. Both to reduce the production costs and to discharge the least waste acid, so it can give a huge economic and social benefits to manufacturers.Removal of the micro-water in mixed carbon four by adsorption operating at room temperature, silica gel, activated alumina and molecular sieve desiccant can be elected as adsorbent. In this industrial experiment, dehydration may be studied using activated alumina as dehydration agent by desiccant regeneration method combined step-down and heating. The industrial test proved that the dehydration results to mixed carbon four by desiccant adsorption can get 58.1%, the average water content can be dropped to 71mg/kg which was 27.6% of the design data of dehydration, greater than the expected dehydration data (20mg/kg). But using dried 3A molecular sieve as dehydration agent, insteading of the steam heater in the heating case, the average dehydration rate can be reduced to the expected dehydration data of 20mg/kg. It showed the 3A molecular sieve was the perfect adsorption dehydration desiccant better than activated alumina. The product cost can be saved 214,000 RMB/year using activated alumina desiccant, while it's 324,000 RMB/year when 3A molecular sieve was used as the adsorption desiccant. The significant economic benefits can be got by using the later.
