In this study, caprolactam wastewater was treated by short-cut nitrification and denitrification technology. Based on the pilots tests in the integration biochemical reactor, the effects of temperature, pH, reflux ratio, C/N and sludge loading on the removal rate of COD and NH3-N were studied. The results indicate that the effluent COD concentration can be below 100mg/L, ammonia nitrogen concentration is less than 8mg/L, when the influent COD concentration is 8000mg/L and ammonia nitrogen concentration is 600mg/L. The removal rate of COD and ammonia nitrogen is more than 98% when the temperature is 30℃, and the pH value is between 7.5 and 8.5, and the concentration of dissolved oxygen is 0.5mg/LBased on the optimization of process conditions, the secondary sedimentation tank was improved. Economic analysis for this project was also calculated.
