Ethyl acetate is one of the most important acetate downstream products.We developed new ethyl acetate production technology to improve product's purity, to improve products, and to decreases raw material expense.The new technology used methanesulfonic acid as esterification catalyst. The new technology has only three rectification columns, the esterificaion column, the distillation column and the waste water recovery column, which integrated the concentration column and the distillation Column into one column and removed the low fat cheese recovery column. So the device integration was improved,and the steam consumption device was reduced.Based on the results of the Aspen Plus simulation and experiment of the column, the process simulation and experiment were carried out. The optimum technological process and parameters were found by repeatedly simulation, fitting, experiment, contrast and through the pilot experiment. We Established 100000 tons/year ethyl acetate production pant by equipment simulations and selection of key equipments. Industrial application indicated that the phegmal reflux, output quantity, steam quantity and temperature of each control point are all within the permissible error range. The product purity reached 99.8%.We found the restrictive factors of the production enlargement through computing ability of the the esterificaion column, the distillation column and the waste water recovery column. Based on commercial application, the equipments were optimized and remoulded.The product quality was further improved and the the output of the new technology plant can achieve 200000 tons/year. The control indexs of towers were all in the normal range. After optimal design, the productionpurity can come up to more than 99.9%, acid content can come up to less than 30 mg/L, water content can come up to less than 0.02%, and alcohol content can come up to less than 0.01%. The quality of products reach the excellent class. The COD can be reduced to less than 50mg/L.
