Coal plasma-pyrolysis gas for acetylene production is gas-liquid-solid three-phase mixture, which contains flammable gases like hydrogen, acetylene-methane etc, tiny particles, humidity and a large amounts of adhesion components such as coal tar. Pyrolysis gases are so complicated that is difficult to achieve the dust removal requirements by using single dust removal technology. Thus, this thesis focuses on the study of the wet dust removal process base on coal plasma-pyrolysis gas for acetylene production.The physical properties of dust in the pilot-scale coal plasma-pyrolysis gases with a 5MW hydrogen plasma torch had been characterized. It was found that:its particle size is tiny, and has a larger surface area; The dust sample is of good fluidity because its packing density and angle of repose is small; Dust electric-resistivity is moderate, which showed that ESP is suitable for gas-solid separation; It has a large moisture content and good hydrophilic wet dust removal process would be very suitable to capture it.Based on requirements for gas-solid separation process, one wet dust removal route was proposed. According to the process material balance, the requirements of the overall performance of wet dust collector was obtained. The design of Venturi, JBR. Spray tower was then performed to determine both the size and structure. Following, guide the processing and installation.This thesis also carried out the wet dust collector performance testing under simulated conditions. According to the experimental results, the optimal operating parameters were obtained as follows:(1)Optimal liquid-gas ratio for venture is 0.5-1.0.(2)The best immersion depth of JBR is in the range of 200-300 mm.(3)Optimal liquid-gas ratio for spray tower is 1.5.Meanwhile, experimental results also show that the efficiency of wet dust collector can exceed technical requirements, Which indicated that wet dust removal process used in coal plasma-pyrolysis for acetylene production industry had a good prospect.
