There are lots of advantages such as fast cooling speed and small degree of oxidation for spray forming process, so it is very competitive in rapid solidification process. But because of metal droplets atomizing, which part of the gas with liquid droplets are solidified in the deposit, there may exist lots of air holes in the deposits during spray forming process; In addition, for the high quality requirements of the alloy material, grain size often is slightly bulky. Therefore, in this paper, the experiment was carried out by using a new type of self-designed spraying deposition supersonic treatment installment, the advantages are that air holes are eliminated and grain are refined and the quality of deposits are improved.In this paper, the effects of different parameters of ultrasonic power on deposit microstructure was studied. The result show that good quality of deposits can be obtained when deposits are treated by ultrasonic vibration at appropriate ultrasonic power , but the overhigh ultrasonic power is of disadvantage to improve on the quality of deposits. With the increase of ultrasonic power, from 500W to 1500W, the effect of ultrasonic treatment is more obvious, so grains are refined and the size of air holes become small. When ultrasonic power is increased to 1500W, the value of the densification of deposits is at max; However, when ultrasonic power is continuously increased to 2000W, the phenomenon of thermal effect will be more obvious, the effect of refining grain will be weak. On the basis of experiment, the result shows that they are consistent with the experimental results. At the same time, in this paper, the effects of different parameters of ultrasonic treating time on deposit microstructure was studied. The result show that with the increase of ultrasonic treating time, from 1s to 2s, the size of air holes become small, but when ultrasonic treating time is continuously increased to 3s, the ultrasonic treating time is of disadvantage to improve on the quality of deposits. When ultrasonic treating time is increased to 2s, the value of the densification of deposits is at max.After the Al-Si alloy was prepared with spray forming ultrasonic vibration technique, heat treatment on Al-Si alloy was introduced to optimize process. The result shows that compare without ultrasonic treatment, the quality of deposits is improved and the mechanical properties are significantly improved.
