Heavy-duty construction machinery plays a very important role in the engineering construction. Handling equipment has a large proportion of the crane as an important material. The arm is the most important job components of heavy-duty construction machinery and truck crane. The arm belongs to metal structure parts. It is the important part in the force, and the main work units are installed in the arm. Its design and production depends on the success of the truck crane hoisting performance using high strength material ease the arm quality method to design the arm, with large tonnage crane product continuous development, high strength steel plate use range, the arm strength also improved. Welding process is main technology in lifting machinery metal structure manufacturing, the quality of welding and assembly process directly relates to the hoisting machinery products quality. Successful making heavy-duty crane jib is parts of heavy crane development, the success will research into production, provides technical support to the further development of the thousand- ton cranes in our country. Giant crane arm is usually made of the WELDOX960, which is made of Sweden low-alloy and high strength steel. Make giant arm with WELDOX960, this low-alloy and high strength steel usually through the welding process, and certain welding process measures are all used in the production process, These need to be improved.This paper assesses welding procedure qualification of WELDOX960 high strength steel, focuses on the analysis of identity of welding joint WELDOX960 preheated temperature, welding heat input and welding process parameters and welding heat treatment and other factors on the mechanical properties of welding joint effect, and the microcosmic analysis of the mechanics properties of welding joints according to the actual production and manufacturing conditions of the whole earth QAY125 crane the arm made in xuzhou heavy-duty machinery plant..Through the research on the welding technology of arm of heavy-duty construction machinery, we accumulate the situation analysis to the organization of the WELDOX960 low-alloy steel and high strength streel, weldability state analysis, mechanical property analysis situation, the welding process parameters, welding crack status analysis and welding procedure qualification, forming a complete set of high- strength steel welding WELDOX960 low -alloy processing technology development route and key technology research. The results for making reasonable welding process and large engineering machinery fault lay the foundation of safety evaluation. It can effectively promote to all kinds of engineering structure, such as transmission tower, high strength cast iron, bridges, automobile and manufacturing of large structure,thus huge benefits will certainly come into being in our economic life.
