Synthesis And Properties Study Of Indolo[3,2-b]Carbazole Derivatives

Over the past few years, indolo[3,2-b]carbazole and its derivatives have received a great deal of attention due to their potential electrical and optical properties. In this study, indolo[3,2-b]carbazole is selected as precursor to synthesize2,8-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole,5,11-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole, and6,12-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole.In the synthesis process of the indolo[3,2-b]carbazole derivatives, we obtain the key intermediates indolo[3,2-b]carbazole and2,8-dibromo indolo[3,2-b]carbazole through Fischer indole reaction. The2,8-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole and5,11-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole are generated through Suzuki reaction and Ullmann coupling reaction respectively. In addition, we get6,12-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole through the reaction of indole and naphthaldehyde.In this paper, we investigation the optical property and thermal stability difference of indolo[3,2-b]carbazole derivatives. The results of molecule fluorescence spectroscopy show that compared with the precursor of indolo[3,2-b]carbazole, the position of fluorescence emission main peak of2,8-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole is blue shift, the position of fluorescence emission peak of5,11-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole is slightly blue shift (only1nm), and the position of fluorescence emission peak of6,12-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole is red-shift. We get the thermal stability order of the three target products by thermal gravimetric analysis:2,8-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole<6,12-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole<5,11-dinaphthalene indolo[3,2-b]carbazole.
