The main research work of this dissertation focuses on the multidentate nitrogen-containing metal compounds based on amidine. Including:study a convenient and clean route to SiMe2{NC(Ph)N(tBu)}2; Synthesis and characterization of novel metal complexes supported with the silyl linked-bis(amidinate) ligands; Some of them exhibited activities for ethylene polymerization and ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of lactide. In addition, a new synthetic pathway to silyl linked amino-amidinate metal compounds was developed successfully.Chapter1. A background for the topic of this thesis is summarized, including:(1) synthesis and characterization of amidine;(2) Reserch developments of metal amidinates;(3) Application of metal amidinate. The compounds 2a,2a'showing the different coordination modes in different solvents of crystallization, and can be transformed into each other in different solvents of crystallization.Chapter3. The reactions of3a Li4{SiMe2[NC(Ph)N(Bu)]2}2with the group IV metal dichloride gave a group of metal compounds. Compound3b showed activity for ethylene polrmerzation. Scheme2Chapter4. The reactions of a with the ZnCl2or ZnEt2gave a group of organometallic compounds4a,4b and4c incorporating with the silyl-linked bis(amidinate) ligands。Compound4c were used as initiator for catalytic the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of lactide.
