With the rapid development of auto industry, The quantity of tyres consumption has increased rapidly in china, in the meanwhile, the environment pollution brought by natural rubber processing also become more and more serious. Nature rubber wastewater contain many organic ingredients, high concentration, big wastewater quantity and high COD and BOD and so on, so nature rubber wastewater is difficult to be treated. oxidation pond,yanyangchi, precipitation pond is commonly used treatment at home and abroad in natural rubber processing wastewater treatment. But this method has many disadvantages such as time wasting, inefficiency, large area, residues can't be used effectively and so on.CPAM has a long chain molecule and cationic group, it suitable for treating polluted waters which contain the suspended solids and organic anion. The pollution of natural rubber industry contains many organic anion ingredients, so, looking forward to CPAM to treat natural wastewater will have good flocculation effect. CPAM is prepared from Mannich reaction and modification, which is commonly used method at home and abroad. The disadvantages of this method are to use more raw materials and poor stability and so on. CPAM is synthesized by copolymerization technique using formaldehyde, dimethylamine and acrylamide in this paper.Cationic polyacrylamide is synthesized by copolymerization technique using formaldehyde, dimethylamine and acrylamide. The optimal scheme is determined by using orthogonal experiment. The optimal conditions of copolymerization are as follows: polymerization temperature is35℃, polymerization time is6h, acrylamide:formaldehyde: dimethylamine is20:15:11and mass fraction of (N4HSO3-(NH2)SO3H2O) initiator is0.4%. The CPAM was characterized by FTIR, NMR, SEM. The flocculation effect of CPAM is discussed in the rubber wastewater.At the end of the paper, discussing the flocculent effect of organic flocculant, inorganic flocculant and organic inorganic compound flocculating agent in rubber wastewater. The results show that:when the rate of organic and inorganic is2:1, the flocculant have best flocculation effect. Using2ml flocculating agent to handing100ml rubber wastewater, the decolouring rate can reach93%and having a quick settlement rate.
