Gemini surfactants have excellent surface properties which will play a tremendous role inthe field of tertiary oil recovery and will have great prospects for the application. The paperfocused on the synthesis of cationic Gemini surfactants and interior flooding effects and made adetailed analysis with purpose to achieve theoretical breakthrough in cationic Geminisurfactants flooding to apply in the field of tertiary oil recovery on the basis of access to a largenumber of domestic and foreign literatures. The paper synthesized three kinds of cationic Gemini surfactants. On this basis, the articlemade measurement and evaluation of the physical and chemical properties of the synthesizedproducts such as critical micelle concentration and oil-water interfacial tension and thesurfactant solution viscosity and external factors such as the impact of salt and temperature onthe solution of surfactant and the mixed performance and so on and found that the products ofsynthesis were more superior than ordinary surfactant with the formation of super-lowinterfacial tension between oil and water which could be reduced to10-4mN/m orders ofmagnitude. Because of the particularity of the molecular structure, cationic Gemini surfactantsolution viscosity was more superior than ordinary surfactants which was as ordinary surfactantand the salt could reduce the solution's CMC and promote the micro process and at the sametime the salt could change micelle microscopic structure. The hybrid system formed the mixturewith commonly used ordinary surfactant often had characteristics superior to the singlesurfactant solution with a good synergy effect. Finally the article made flooding experiment inlab on the synthesis of cationic Gemini surfactant solution and made detailed analysis with theresults. The results showed that Gemini surfactants had high oil displacement efficiency andcationic Gemini surfactants could be expected to become highly efficient oil displacement agentfor EOR.
