Liaohe River is located in Northeast China (40°31'45°17'N,116°54'125°32'E), it runs through the Northeast minings and industriallifelines, and it makes an important effect on local and national development.A wastewater emission towards Liaohe River lacks effective management, resulting in deterioration of the water ecological environment at the same timerising with the economic risk level. Chemical pollution is an important part ofthe Liaohe River pollution of PAHs pollutants is one of the most important, ofPAHs in the majority of the toxicity, carcinogenicity, and other characteristicsto become a research focus. Liaohe River pollution phenomenon is moreprominent than the past; therefore how to control organic compounds becomesthe common aspiration of many people with lofty ideals. We collected watersamples in May as wet season (because dry season in winter, can not collectwater samples); surface sediments samples were seleted in May as wet seasonand in December as dry season, and ecological risk assessment was done withreference to the relevant evaluation method. There were6kinds of PAHs pollutants detected in water samples ofLiaohe River, including: Naphthalene, Phenanthrene, Fluorene, Anthracene, Fluoranthene, Pyrene, their distribution were obviously regional and had arelationship with local enterprises factories. Overall, pollutant distributionwith regional differences, close to the industrial city-Shenyang, Fushun,Liaohe River upstream and Yingkou downstream part of the points pollutioncompared to other regions, more serious. From the pollution trend analysis, tothe middle and lower reaches of Panjin of PAHs in the total amount ofpollutants from the northeast of Shenyang was decreasing distribution. Theresults showed that pollutants in water did no threat to the environment exceptPhenanthrene, Fluoranthene, Pyrene had slight ecological risk. There were15kinds of PAHs pollutants detected in surface sedimentssamples of Liaohe River, Dry season ΣPAHs123.5to21233.4ng g-1, theaverage concentration of3208.1ng g-1; wet period ΣPAHs as37.9to9014.0ng g-1, the average concentration of1612.0ng g-1. The average content ofPAHs in the Liaohe River in surface sediments showed Fushun>Shenyang>Yingkou>Panjin.The15PAHs detected in surface sediments of the Liaohe River, thefluoranthene the pyrene SQG-Q value in the bit values of all can behave bothgreater than0.5, there were low to moderate ecological effects. Fushun sectionof the wet period of the L3-1point SQG-Q value greater than0.5, there was astrong negative effect, the remaining points are in no effect and the low levelof risk; dry season Shenyang section of the L1-point Fushun Duan L3-1andL3-2point SQG-Q value greater than0.5, there is a strong negative effect, the remaining points are in no effect and the low level of risk. Excessive pointincreased the lead to the Northeast winter, a large number of fossil fuelcombustion.
