Organic materials have been widely used in different area for facilitate molecular design, functionality,self-assembly, process, and fast response. Since1987, organic functional materials have been developedintensively. Thiophene is one of the important molecules with its unique structure. Planar conjugatedsystem and stronger charge transfer can for formed in construction of materials system. Diarylethene is oneof most promising phtochromic materials, which can satisfied the requirement of many functional materialsin the fields of molecular probes, switches, and machines. Now, most research activities are attracted to it.In this dissertation, a series of organic functional materials based on thiophene were synthesized andinvestigated intensively. In chapter one, the development of multi-thiophene organic functional materials and photochromicdiarylethene compounds were reviewed. Synthetic methods and various types of dithiophenylenecompounds were introduced. The methods for the syntesis of dendrimer about multi-thiophenes werebriefly overviewed and some typical synthetic routes were listed. Perspective was put forward according tothe current situation. In chapter two, the synthesis of a series of novel multi-thiophene dendrimer by the Kumada and Stillecross-coupling reaction were introduced. Their optical properties were investigated. In chapter three, the synthetic route of newly designed dithiophenylene photochromic compoundswere developed. A series of dendric photochromic compounds were syntesized and their photochromicproperties were investigated systematically. Two same photochromic units were incroportaed into onemolecule by Sonogashira coupling reactions creativity. Attempt to their application was applied. In chapter four, a series of star-shaped compounds with stronger fluorescence were synthesized byStille coupling reaction. Multi-thiophene unit was incroported to the pyrene core successfully. Detailedinvestigation on physical-chemistry properties were carried out.In chapter five, a series of chemsensors based on naphthalimide platform were constructed. Highlyselective and senstive to fluoride ion were observed for chemsensors NAP-1and NAP-2. A possiblemechanism was given according to the relevant literature and UV-vis spectrum titration experiment. In chapter six, a conclusion was given.
