In our country irrigation project,defects exist in many of traditional pipe,forexample, easy corrosion, Low anti-aging properties, low wear resistance,environmental hazards. Quantity to meet the development needs of our country. Butthere is wide gap between foreign quality level and ours. So developed an excellentwear resistance of materials to replace traditional materials is an urgent need.in thisstudy, developed particle reinforced aluminum-manganese-based composite materials.In this study, firstly observed the microstructure and analyses the chemicalcomposition of hypereutectic Al-2.86%Mn alloy and its Al2O3particle reinforcedAl-2.77%of Mn-based composite materials, prepared by stir casting method. Last. Dosliding friction and wear experiments in different load, different speed and differentabrasion media. Analyze of the experimental results. Explore the material itself aswell as external conditions affect the wear performance. Obtain the experimentalfindings.Al2O3particles uniformly distributed in the matrix alloy, Refined the matrixgrain, the organization becomes denser. There are MnAl6and Al11Mn4phase in alloyand composite materials. Hardness of alloy and composite is improved greatly,With the increase of the load, the quality of the wear rate and frictioncoefficient of two materials is increase. Main wear mechanisms are abrasive wear andadhesive wear.80N is the material abrasion mutation load. Because of the role of theparticles (hinder the plastic deformation of the matrix, support and carrying), thequality of the wear rate and the friction coefficient of composite are lower than alloyand pure aluminum, the wear resistance of composite is better than lower than alloyand pure aluminum.With the increase of sliding speed, the plastic deformation rate of materialsub-surface increases. Grinding friction warming softening enhanced. The abrasion ismore serious. Rapid increased the wear of the material. due to the exist of particles and its strength is higher than the aluminum-manganese intermetalliccompound,composites still showed better wear resistance than the alloy and purealuminum. Because of the role of work hardening, high-speed reduce wear and tear ofcomposite materials at50N.Under the conditions of different abrasive media, because of their corrosive andcomes with the particles effect, the wet abrasion is serious than dry abrasion,conditions of wet abrasion exacerbate the wear, the main abrasion mechanism isabrasive wear, the wear morphology is very different with dry wear.
