With the development of urban construction and the steel bridge design, construction and other technology advances, more and more Steel Bridge is used, but we have to pay attention to the safety and inspection work of quality of the bridge, because of the bridge accident. However, at present, major non-destructive testing technology commonly used in steel bridges has several advantages of its own, there are also obvious limitations and applicability, for example, steel bridge structure in different parts is detected by different testing technology, the corresponding non-destructive testing technology for different injury, the best detection method of the technology and other issues still need to be identified and standardized. This is the response to this development, and conducted the following studies:1.Comprehensive and systematic review Domestic and foreign steel bridge nondestructive testing (especially new technology, for TOFD and phased array non-destructive testing), and analysis the welding detail model which injury prone of steel bridge structures in different parts;2.Typical welded structure (flat butt weld, fillet weld (T-and Y-type) and weld tube) as an example to manufacture weld test panels, and to do laboratory experiments with different non-destructive testing techniques. to determine best non-destructive testing technology and the best detection program of the different structural parts and different injury through the Data analysis, detection comparison and verification;3.CIVA is used to simulate Conventional ultrasound and phased array inspection technology to detect the different welding,to verify the feasibility of testing and improving its;4.with Mission Park bridge project, according to the characteristics of long span cable-stayed bridge, on the basis of the tests, to develop its testing program and inspect on-site, so it verify the superiority and economy of TOFD and phased array NDT method.This paper test and evaluate steel bridges in operation and construction, in order to provide accurate and reliable data for ensure the quality and structural safety, maintenance and government decision-making and the basis for standardized of Steel bridge testing.
