In china, the sustained and rapid economic development and industrialization have relied on the energy more than ever before and the demand for energy is increasing. Shortage of power was once in a tense situation. To achieve the national energy-saving goal, the primary tasks in front of us are improving energy efficiency, exploring new ways of energy-using, researching new systems of using energy and optimizing the existing energy-using systems.CCHP system has developed on the basis of CHP system, using the waste heat which is from power conversion device with power generation process directly or indirectly, for heating, hot water and cooling systems. Tt has fully realized cascade utilization of energy, improved the overall energy efficiency.The basic concepts, working principle and the structure of CCHP system are expatiated in this paper, some evaluating indicators of analyzing CCHP system is introduced and some concepts such as economic exergy efficiency, coal saving and economic returns are used. A thermal power plant which has 300MW capacity of the turbine and four different operating conditions and the BCHP of a hospital building are taken as examples. The economy and energy-saving performance of CCHP system of a thermal power plant and distributed system are analyzed respectively. Meanwhile, the paper indicates the relationship betwe CCHP en the economic exergy efficiency of CCHP system and various influencing factors such as building load, energy prices and heat source temperature of a system, and obtaines the best economic exergy efficiency of the BCHP systerm.The economy and energy saving performance of CCHP system of a thermal power plant are analyzed, the results indicate that the economy income of CCHP system in a thermal power plant has increased, no matter CHP system or CCP system. With respect to pure power generation condition, CHP system saves coal but CCP system not; The energy saving performance of the distributed CCHP system are analyzed, the results indicate that compared with the system that heat supply and power supply are separated, distributed CCHP system saves energy and the energy saving is related to seasons:this CCHP system saves more gas in winter than in summer. This performance research is not only basing on the CCHP system of a thermal power plant but also basing on the BCHP system, Therefore, the performance analysis of the CCHP system is more comprehensive.Summary, the development of CCHP system is of great significance to energy saving and energy efficiency, this study provides a theoretical basis for the choice of the CCHP system which is as cold or heat source in the project design of the HVAC system, it provides a theoretical support for the thermal power plant using the CCHP system for energy saving rehabilitation programs, it also has some engineering application value and academic value.
