Wind energy is a clear renewable energy. As human ecomomic is developing, China is speeding up the development of wind power generation technology to replace traditional energy generation. With the continued construction of large wind power generation equipment, wind power transmission is becoming increasingly important. In the power synchronizing technologies, the HVDC Light has great advantages and features. HVDC Light technologies does not require additional compesation devices, but also improve the voltage quality and to provide reactive power support, especially suitable for the inerconnection between the large wind power generation and power grid.Firstly, this paper studies the operating principle, mathematical model, and its mathematical expression of HVDC Light system. On this base, introduce HVDC Light nolinear decoupling feedback control principle, and further deduce the rectifier station and the inverter station expression of mathematical equations. Then combined with the operating principles of HVDC Light and mathematical models, introduce the SPWM control method, in order to control bus voltage and respectively active and reactive power to obtain great results.HVDC Light transmission in wind power has its unique features and characteristics. This paper campares the wind power connection of AC and HVDC Light, then, details the structure of HVDC Light transmission system, and describes the transformer, flow reactor, filter, converter valves, cooling system. On this basis, further elaborates HVDC Light connecting to the grid topology and the entire HVDC Light engineering operation and work process.Converter vale is a key part of the project. Due to HVDC Light converter device is required in full-controlled device. While voltage in HVDC Light is relatively high, full-controlled power device of hight voltage level application is not mature. Therefore, full-controlled IGBT with low voltage need to be used in series. This paper focuses on the IGBT full-controlled power device performance. On this basis, research the key drive IGBT technology in series-Active Voltage Control (AVC), and design the AVC drive hardware circuit and software. By actual expermental circuit, compare the waveform and caculate the actual energy loss, then verify the AVC drive IGBT in series and achieve the feasibility of HVDC Light converter valve development.
