A Search To The Usage Of Traditional Culture In Folk House Districts Of Northern China

This thesis has studied and researched the Chinese traditional culture of harmony reflected by the Beijing courtyard houses and the typical structural elements of courtyard houses. It also combined the Chinese traditional culture, structural elements of courtyard houses and modern architectural design ideas together to use them on design of folk house subdistricts in northern China. The thesis carried out 3 different design proposals for a certain subdistrict and provided a global design proposal for it, in order to work out a more suitable design plan which can be more suitable to Chinese national psychological need.
