The marine controllable pitch propeller(CPP)system can realize the ship hull-diesel engine-propeller match, enhance the operational and the mobility of the marine, save the energy consumption, and fall the low-carbon withdrawal. Thus it is more and more used for the modern ships. Carrying out research work of this subject is to create pure software CPP control system which can overcome some shortcomings of traditional CPP in training. According to it on the one hand it can be help to improve the training of the crew operating sills, on the other it can be help make students more intuitive understanding the internal structure principle and the control processes of the CPP in the teaching process.This thesis takes a solid ship as an example, and has established the mathematical model and the three-dimensional model by researching the work principle and the virtual reality technology of the CPP, in order to achieve the scene virtual simulation which is the control of the pitch and rotation speed in the different control modes by designing the virtual operation and control system of CPP. This thesis will achieve the following tasks:1) The matching relationship of the ship hull-diesel engine-propeller is penetratingly analyzed by investigating the internal structure, control principle as well as the working mode. The control model and mathematical relation between engine telegraph and pitch, rotation speed is established according to experimental data.2) The relative merits and compatibility of the modeling software are analyzed and compared. The 3ds max and UG software are adopted to establish models of main components of propeller and Control agencies. The modeling principle and modeling method are also presented especially for the model of propeller blades characterized by streamline shape. First, the offset table expression is transformed into three-dimensional coordinates by Coordinate conversion formula. Then the software UG is employed to establish an accurate model through a point-line-plant- method. At last, properties such as texture and light were modified by software 3ds max in order to improve its reality.3) There are three parts of overall system design: first, three-dimensional model could be processed into the virtual scene by the platform of VRP-builder, triggering function and motion path etc. which belong to parts of scene editor could realize the virtual show about internal structure and working principle. Then to meet the needs of virtual control, the underlying framework for virtual simulation must be designed in the environment of VRP-SDK, both of the engine telegraph in different modes and the mathematical relationship of pitch and speed could be designed by Visual C++, the script of the virtual scene is called to bring about scene virtual control of CPP by control panel. At last, collision detection of the scene and 3D stereo projection could bring about the three-dimensional visual effects of CPP virtual control system.The system can be released the form of VRPIE, it could bring about Virtual scene which is part of the function of Human-computer interaction by Web-download, and it plays a certain role of practical training and teaching about the crew, the modeling and design ideas which is got in the system design process provides a reference value for completing virtual control system of the ship further.
