Space grid is a sort of preferable roof type for long span buildings. There are tremendou-s buildings adopting space grid structure as roof in the domestic and abroad, including Large-scale gymnasium, airport, exhibition hall, medium-sized practice club, theatres, dining hall and industrial plant. However, because disaster as earthquake happen very frequently in recent years.how to perform seismic, Especially the vertical seismic design of space grids is still an important problem concerned.Vertical seismic action of pyrimid space grid(PSG) roof structures and the relationship between dynamic force and static force under the representative value of gravity are rightly studied in this paper, and seek for a simple method to calculate the value of dynamic force, the main steps following:(1) Reference to the acceleration response spectrum of vertical earthquake which come from analysis and statistics of a large number of records, high reliability can be guaranteed.(2) The dynamic internal force of nine trapezoid of pyrimid space grid(PSG) roof structures was calculated in the condition of six different site(two levels of ground motion intensity (0.1g~0.2g,0.2g~0.4g) and three site categories(Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ)) with response spectrum method and time history analysis method by SAP2000.(3) Reference to dynamic internal forces coefficient, to find out the distribution of the coefficient of dynamic internal force through comparing and analyzing the results obtained from several calculate methods.(4) Using the role of equivalent seismic coefficient and the distribution of dynamic internal forces coefficient,to find out two more practical methods to calculate the dynamic internal forces of space grid structure.
