With the west development strategy carrying out in China, the highway construction gets a quickly developing. But the western region is a mountainous zone, with high mountains and deep gorges steep terrain .Building bridges in these mountains are very difficult and costly, which increases the cost of building? public road. The locations of most bridges are in the valley, and some of these bridges have a high-pier more than 50 meters. Considering the well-set of structure, the driving comfortable and the total cost of building a highway, most of these bridges are mainly continuous tee-beam bridge structures. Due to most regions of western part have strong earthquake actions, it is very important to take sElsmic measure to make sure the safe of these high-pier continuous tee-beam bridges.Currently, the standard China's"Specifications of earthquake Resistant Design for highway engineering"(JTJ004-89) and"Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges"(JTG/T B02-01-2008) for highway design only adapts for the continuous bridges with the pier under 30m,but not involving the bridges with the pier beyond 30m . There is a lack of specific direction and calculation method of Seismic load for the high-pier continuous beam bridges. With studying of many related research work publication and using the software of Midas Civil, this paper analyzes the Seismic performance of high-pier continuous tee-beam bridges adopt nonlinear time history method based on the China's"Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges". By means of changing the parameters of the bridge, including the bearing type, the height of pier, the settings of expansion joints and the shear bar stiffness, the change rule of the Seismic performance of high-pier continuous tee-beam bridges can be obtained. At the end, the conclusions of this article about the displacement, the pounding rule and shear bar stiffness are very useful; it can provide references for the design of continuous beam bridges.
