As the energy utilization and environmental pollution problems become increasingly prominent, people paying attention to the DG technology. However a large number of accessing to the tradition power grid by DG which power is uncontrollable may brought a host of negative effects and the development of DG is also restricted. Microgrid is the most effective way to make use of DG technology. As a frontier area of research, Microgrid is the hottest issue which focused on energy management and relay protection. In order to study the microgrid protection and the control theory feasibility and the usability, it is necessary to build microgrid simulation system to do some research on the hot topics.This thesis based on microgrid simulation system, and carried out research on its relay protection & energy management. The main contents include:Firstly, I have designed first and second electric circuits of microgrid simulation system.Microgrid simulation system including 8 systems:synchronous generator units, doubly-fed induction generator units, direct-driven wind turbine generators units, photovoltaic power system units, storage units, the tunable load, the supervisory system, and analog transmission lines.Secondly, I have discussed the difference between microgrid with normal grid, the affection which brought by distributed power generation to normal grid. The relay protection scheme including take direction atresia over-current section I protection, the over-voltage protection. Meanwhile, the wide-area backup protection was designed.Finally, a new energy management algorithm which based on microgrid simulation system designed. According to super short-term load forecasting methods, DG's power prediction formula, battery state-of-charge & the least square method, nonlinear programming to designed a energy management of microgrid simulation system.
