With the decreasing of fossil fuel resources and the emission limitation of greenhouse gases, biomass energy becomes one of the most important regenerative energies. Compared with other technologies, gasification is simple, economical and feasible. Biomass fluidized bed gasification technology as the use of advanced biomass energy technology, will play an important role for solving the energy pressure and environmental stress of human society. In this paper, Biomass Gasification and agglomeration characteristic are studied in 5-m tallĂ—0.1-m diameter air-blown circulating fluidized bed gasifier. The fluidizing characteristics of ice husk, poplar sawdust and broken cotton stalk and separately two-component with the sand are tested on the cold test rig. The results showed that: with sand as the bed material, The fluidizing characteristics of biomass was improved. The distribution of temperature and pressure, gas composition, gasification indicators, energy distribution are studied on the hot test rig which has the same size as the cold model. Identify the reasons for the low efficiency of gasification and taken steps to improve it.The agglomeration characteristic of river sand, high bauxite, periclase separately as bed material is tested on the Fluidized Bed Gasifier. The results of periodic replacement experiment that use river sand and high bauxite as bed material indicate that the method of avoiding agglomeration of bed material is feasible.
