Due to the large-scale interconnection of power systems, power exchange capacity between regions has very big effect on power grid security and stability. So, accurate and rapid determination of transient stability power limit and to control the transmission power within the transient stability limits is an important problem to be solved urgently for power systems. A new fast calculation method of tie-line transmission power limit under transient stability is presented in this paper by studying the relationship among tie-line transmission power limit under transient stability, power impact in tie-lines from post-fault accelerating power and static stability power limit of post-fault power system. Technicians are able to assess transient stability using this method, saving mass time for a multi-machine power system. As the method relies on the time-domain program, it succeeds in being accuracy and free from simplifying assumptions about the system models. Furthermore, the main appeal of this approach is the high speed compared to the other methods. Through practical case calculations, the proposed techniques have proven to be able to fulfill the application requirements on stability, effectiveness and calculation efficiency, and could be widely applied in practical power systems. At last, this paper introduces the method's applications in calculating emergency controlling measures and online security and stability analysis. |
