Lignite resources of our country are very abundant, in which Inner Mongolia's lignite reserves accounts for 77% of the national lignite reserves. At present the medium speed pulverizer system is generally used in the design of boiler of the electrical power system in Inner Mongolia. In reality, there are prevalent problems in the utility boiler firing lignite, including the slagging, the insufficiency of the pulverized coal system, the accumulated ash, the wear and blast and so on. It is unable to fulfill the design requirements, simultaneously makes unit consumption of energy of the pulverized coal system increased and affects the efficiency of the power plant.Boilers of Xilin power plant and Shangduo power plant in Inner Mongolian all use lignite with high moisture, and match HP medium speed pulverizer system. This paper analyzes the characteristic of lignite, the design parameters of the medium speed pulverizer system have been given. Through the optimized operation of pulverized coal system, the best operation parameters and operation mode are obtained. HP coal pulverizing output of medium-speed mill is consistent with the design. It is meet the need of the stable and complete combustion in boiler. Thus the security, stable and economical operation of the lignite-fired boiler matching the medium-speed pulverizer system under design condition is ensured.
