With the rapid development of the urbanization, the need of ecological protection and vast spreading of engineering projects are expanding parallel. The impassible gap caused incompatible conflict. Thus, the engineering landscaping turns to be a necessity on the way finding of eco-sustainability.Departed from the overlapping of engineering landscape and natural landscape, the dissertation focuses on the manual constructed wetland (MCW) for its duel property, the engineering nature and natural engineering, to probe into the methodology and theoretical system from the angle of the landscape ecology. Then the definition of the word landscape, landscaping, and engineering landscaping is given progressively, as the foundation; then from the landscape ecology, the two key layer of natural and anthropogenic landscape of matrix landscape protection is established, at last the overlapping methodology of the two landscapes is summarized as open space-traffic-fabric system theoretically. After this, through the analysis of the feature and operational mechanism of MCW, two properties are summarized as the natural engineering and engineering nature to define the engineering landscape motive and design direction of MCW. Based on the previous analysis, this design process is divided into three layers for the methodology study, the MCW landscaping, the matrix protection where the MCW is in and the overlapping and unification of the previous two. Together with the related case study, the frame of MCW engineering landscaping guided be landscape ecology is established. Finally, through the engineering landscaping design of Xinxue River MCW Demonstration Project, the methodology this dissertation is established positively exemplified in the real practice.
