In recent years, as ship is becoming more huge and moving faster in water, the trailing wake of ship is becoming more and more complex. People pay more attention on propeller cavitation. This paper do research on new anti-cavitation airfoil profile design, try to improve anti-cavitation performance of propeller with the new designed anti-cavatation profile. A new multi-objective optimum method of propeller was presented based on new anti-cavitation airfoil profile design.The influence of different design parameters on airfoil profile anti-cavatation characteristics was studied in this paper. A new design method based on Eppler method which can effectively control the thickness and camber of airfoil profile was developed. New profile with better anti-cavitation performance was designed using this method. An effective way which can control the position of cavitation bucket of profile by changing the design parameters is also presented. There are some design examples in this paper.When doing propeller design and optimum, the original propeller was designed with the traditional lifting line and lifting surface method to gain the required hydrodynamic performance. As the original propeller design finished, new anti-cavitation airfoil was used to do propeller anti-cavitation performance optimum. The profile of propeller at different radius was replaced by new profile. Optimize the pitch distribution of propeller with Isignt. When doing the optimum, several pitch were choosed as design parameters, the open-water efficiency and minimum pressure coefficient were choosed as objective. Different optimization arithmetic were used to get different optimization results.
