This study of the plate reinforced joints at flange of beam-end is a kind of typical reinforced beam section node. By welding the plate section modulus has been improved, plastic hinge be formed some distance from the end of beam, and achieve the goal of improving ductility of connection and avoiding brittle failure of connection. This paper introduces the design of four steel frame beam-column joints t-shaped Ansys model and experimental results were compared validation, Among them, there are 2 flange plate type node specimens, respectively for rectangular flange plate type node specimens (FPS-1) and trapezoidal flange plate type node specimens (FPS-2), 2 cover plate type node specimens, respectively for rectangular plate type node specimens (CPS-1) and trapezoidal cover board type node specimens (CPS-2). Q235B steel and E43 series welding rod were used. In addition, according to the present standards, and American standard FEMA350, by changing the length of the trapezoidal reinforcing and plate thickness and designed FT,FL,CT,CL four model series which contains 14 models and study the length and the thickness changes on the specimen hysteretic performance impact.Ansys model and test results show that: (1) from the load - displacement hysteresis curve, the skeleton curves, the equivalent viscous coefficient, ductility coefficient etc can see effect is good, the finite element simulation, which involve the node of plastic deformation and carrying capacity, (2) the plastic hinge is formed 1/4 beam depth from the end of the plate under loading which protect the welding of connection, and there are serious buckling in the beam flange and web under ultimate load, howere, the column flange did not appear large deformation; (3) the dimension of reinforcing plate has some effect to behavior of plate reinforced connections;(4) the length of reinforcing plate is usually definited as (0.5-0.8) times the beam section height,no mater it's flange plate reinforced section or cover plate reinforced section; the thickness of reinforcing flange plate is usually definited as (1.2-1.4) times the beam flange thickness, the thickness of reinforcing cover plate is usually definited as (0.7-1.2) times the beam flange thickness.
