The main bearing structure of truck is vehicle frame. In the premise the stiffness and strength,it is important significance for performance improvement to reduce the weight of vehicle frame Topology optimization is the frontiers and focuses problem of the modern structure optimization research fields.The overall model as optimized object is helpful to improve the vehicle of various performance.The paper firstly explained the necessities of topological optimization and structural lightweighting to the study and domestic and international research situationstatus, analyzes topological optimization and vehicles structural lightweighting development trend, presents lightweight design and research conception for the truck semi-trailer frame with topological optimization method.Then,according to the parameters of frame geometry model before optimization,it establish topological initial optimizational model,on this basis to the minimizing of structure flexibility as objective and the volume after optimization as constraint,semi-trailer frame topology optimization mathematical model based on variable density method.And design and calculate vehicle frame with MD Nastran system.And based on topological optimization result combined with the manufacturing process of body frame and manufacture principle of topological optimization manufacture the modle,got a new body frame.Then,analyse and contrast to the frame performance before and after optimization.Establishe a finite element model of two kinds of body frame.before and after the topological optimization based on entity unit.Calculate and analyse the overall stress and its modal frequency.under the bend and torsion conditions. The results show that after optimization relatively before optimization the quality is reduced by 11.6%,and achieve good effect of lightweight.And under the bend and torsion conditions the maximum stress of the frame relative to before optimization have greatly reducation,meanwhile,modal analysis showed that modal frequency of the optimized body frame is also improved. Thus the paper further explained that topological optimizal design is accurate,reliable and realistic.
