Foundation pit engineering—an ancient subject which also embracing the characteristics of this Age. Along with the emergence of numerous Extra-high buildings, high-rises and underground constructions, the research on the foundation pit support is even more deepening. Soil nailing wall as a type of foundation pit support, the basic characteristics reflected during the construction are steady, high speed and with high economic benefits. Soil-nailing Wall is also called anchored wall, it is a type of Foundation pit and slope support, which the short and thick anchors were installed or driven into the earth wall of the Foundation Pit to reinforce the soil body and make it to be a self stabilized solid gravity dam type retaining wall. Soil-nailing Wall appeared in the 1970's, a French contractor applied the technology on Versailles City railway slope excavating engineering project successfully in 1972. After the Paris Soil Reinforce International Meeting in 1979, Soil-nailing Wall was approved by the western word and was extensive used in Foundation pit engineering. On the Retaining Wall International Academic Conference in 1990 in America, Soil-nailing Wall to became an independent subject which stand side by side with Anchor rod retaining wall, to be a independent subject branch of Soil Reinforce. The quality is reliable and stable, the construction is convenient, the time limit for a project is short, and effect is good, high performance cost ratio, with extensive application prospect.Through wide selection of the related data and documents on the Soil-nailing Wall Foundation pit engineering, combined with the technology and the practice, this article discourses the concept and classification of Foundation pit engineering, the concept of the Soil-nailing Wall and its development conditions, mentality of designing and the theory of Foundation pit engineering, to combine with case study, to illustrate the building pit construction feasibility and standardization of slope support together with the Soil-nailing Wall, at the same time to indicate the control of the construction progress, quality and other key links. To propose an emergency preplan during the earth excavation and anchor-plate retaining if any dangerous case under short time limit, in order to offer some experience and reference to other same type project construction, provide the theory and technical support to the development of Foundation pit support technology.
