It is digital and Information times in 21st Century, and related digital information technologies have beening developed so rapidly. From areas of reading plain texts into illustration, from the film area to HD, 3D, and four-dimensional cinema area, photography technology and image quality have become increasingly and more intelligently. The camera has also beening changed from film areas to Digital Still Camera (DSC) areas. We can see DSC everywhere in our lives, from parties to variery of conferences, from family lives to travel, from traffic video surveilliace to satellites, and from the scene of news to international Events, etc., It has been record the scene at the time by DSC timely and accurately, whatever you are a professional or amateur.Based on above advantages, DSC has been used brodly to be our life. And taking into economy cost and people's usbility habinates, we designe this type cost down DSC. The thesis is divided into six chapters. In the first chapter, It is mainly to introduce the development background, development purpose and research of DSC. And the second section, It is mainly to introduce the key technologies of DSC. They are AWB(Auto White Balance), AE(Auto Exposure), AF(Auto Focus), which is releativated with IQ(Image Quality). And then it put forward their own theories and algorithms implementation. It is the hardware implementation partment in the third section. It is mainly to introduce hardware platform and configuration and circuit design and implenmentation, which are the key factors of cost down about DSC. It is software design and implementation in the fourth sections. There are preview model, photo model, video model, browse model, USB model, print model, setup model and theirown menu models about DSC. Each model has OSD(On Screen Display) layer, which has been detailed to describe. The fifth section is mainly to introduce the test cases in IQ(Image Quality). Last section is mainly the summary and outlook.Based on above design and implementation, it is successed to finish the project. And this style DSC has been multiple produced and saled in Europe countries.
