With the rapid development of electric power and automation industries,smart grid has become an important high-technology which can promote theenergy source conversion and economy development of a country. Theimplication of smart grid has gone beyond the original limit of powertransmission and distribution, and covered energy efficiency management,utilization of new energy, low carbon economy promotion. The rapiddevelopment of economy results in sharp increase in energy consumption, andissues regarding emission reduction as well as environmental protection arises.Electric power market is more and more affecting on the operation ofelectric system.How to control the cost of electric power generation and theprice of power supply have been a focus of the industry around the globe.Meanwhile, due to the extreme weather conditions, the safety and stability ofelectric system faced more and more challenges.Aiming at the development tendency of smart grid user technology, thepaper expounds the EMS framework of the smart grid user for factory, business building and residence. The user side EMS of smart grid is based onthe communicate information platform. It integrates the flows of power,information and service. The technology of interaction between powercompany and consumer, can provide the data to the power company andachieve the local or romote interaction. User can check the situation of usingthe electric, the power rate and energy analysis information. Also, thetechnology can help people to control the smart home equipment and react tothe market and demand of consumer quickly. The user side energy managesystem can connet with the distributed energy sources, electromobile, storedenergy device and so on.The people can use the graphical interfaces to control the electricequipment and manage the electrical load。The design of user side EMS ofsmart grid, can reduce the risk of power grids and help people use theelectrical energy more economically.
