The Spar platform is a new type of deep sea platform, by virtue of its excellent performa- nce, relatively low cost; it has become one of the main platform types for the world deepwater oil and gas exploitation. While mooring line directly affect the performance of mooring system reliability, to reasonably select and design the lines has become the focus of the Spar platform mooring system design. With the development of science and technology, the components of the mooring line have run to multi component mooring line consist of anchor chain, anchor cable and synthetic fiber rope from single anchor chain and anchor cable, so the performance study of multi-component combination mooring line has a very important significance in theory and engineering for deep sea Spar platform design .In view of the above background, this paper has done the following several aspects of research.First of all, the catenary equation of three-section mooring line is derived from the catenary equation of single- component mooring line, and perform static analysis for the multi-component combination mooring line without considering the mooring line elongation , wave, wind and other elements of the case, compare the mooring performance of single component and multi-component combination mooring line.Second, considering the mooring gravity, buoyancy, fluid drag force, mooring elastic elongation, attached water quality as well as the mooring inertial force and other factors, the dynamic characteristics of multi-component combination mooring line are studied using the lumped mass method for mooring ( taking the" deck hawse - wire cable submarine cable" combination mooring for example ), compare the motion performance with , compare the advantages and disadvantages of different forms's mooring line.In the end with reference to the parameters of a Truss Spar platform in the Gulf of Mexico, the coupling analysis for the Truss Spar platform,including frequency-domain and time-domain is performed.
