With the progress of human society, the high speed development of economy, resources and environment issues are becoming increasingly obvious. How to use the limited resources and space effectively is also in engineering designers presence. Just because of this, humans are constantly breaking through the original height of buildings. All sorts of high-rise and super-tall buildings also have sprouted appear. This put forward higher request to the foundation of the high-rise and super-tall buildings. The general shallow foundation is difficult to meet the requirements of the bearing capacity and deformation,what is more ,some soft soil layer is also difficult to provide enough capacity.Pile foundation because of its superior capacity performance is becoming more and more preferred foundation forms. Previously engineering designers just regard pile as a kind of compressive elements while ignoring the pile as a flexural component .However, in the actual engineering practice, many piles will be under horizontal thrust, in some cases horizontal force may even become a controlling factors, for example: pile foundation under seismic load; the pile in the wharf under wind load, wave loads; highway pile foundation; arch of the upper structure; heaps of earth and so on. The pile foundation performance under horizontal load is essentially the interaction between pile and soil. In recent years insufficient horizontal bearing capacity of pile foundation causes a lot of important engineering accidents. serious engineering accident had to attract our attention and reflect upon the present design patterns.This article will rely on a practical pile foundation engineering under horizontal thrust because of the arch of the upper structure and a single pile level static load experiment .The author will use the finite element software ANSYS to simulate the performance of single pile and pile group under horizontal loads and find the influencing factors of bearing capacity of single pile and pile group under horizontal load. This paper will pay close attention to the following respects:the different level of load; pile length, pile diameter, pile body elastic modulus, soil modulus of elasticity, soil poisson's ratio, soil sticky gathered force, friction angle of soil, vertical load ,freedom and constraints of the pile and so on. In the practical engineering practice level static load experiment is the most reliable method to determine the bearing capacity of the pile foundation, however, due to the limit of the technical conditions and the high test funds,researchers often conduct single pile static load level experiments, but rarely conduct pile group static load level experiments. but in a lot of practical engineerings pile groups are adopted in order to ensure the bearing capacity of foundation of high-rise and super-tall buildings project designers must face the problem:how to use the result of the single pile level static load test to solve the bearing capacity of pile groups. At the same time, it is also an important basis of pile groups design,this paper is based on the engineering practice to solve this problems and contradictions. In this paper, firstly the finite element software ANSYS is used to simulate the bearing capacity performance of single pile under the horizontal load and the change rule of displacement and bending moment along the pile body, secondly the bearing capacity performance of pile group under the horizontal load will be simulated by ANSYS and the pile group load - displacement curve will be established through the simulation results of finite element software ANSYS to solve the horizontal bearing capacity of the pile group, finally the author will discusses the influence factors of level bearing capacity of pile group: the pile length ,the pile diameter, the soil modulus of elasticity, the vertical load.This paper in order to verify the correctness of the finite element simulation results makes two comparisons: results of single pile under horizontal thrust test and the results of single pile under lateral loads using finite element simulation are compared, calculated results of the pile group according to the single pile experimental results and results of pile group using finite element simulation are compared.
