Solar power is a kind of energy that is green, safe, renewable and environmental friendly. So converting solar power into electrical energy is one of the most potential new energy technologies. However, there are also many problems waiting to be solved if connecting PV system to the grid.Based on controller and inverter, the main points are problems existing only in PV system including maximum power point tracking (MPPT), islanding detection and voltage stability of public connecting point (PCC). At first, the principals and features of different MPPT methods have been researched in the base of analysis of math and practical model. Then because island detecting is a problem that must be solved in dispersed power system, many methods are analyzed in this paper and their non-detection zone. After that, based on the flow analysis of power system, by adding appropriate reactive power compensation to necessary node, the voltage stability can be improved dramatically.At last, the simulation models of PV system, MPPT system, islanding detection system have been established under the environment of MATLAB/SIMULINK. The power flow adding reactive power compensation is analyzed by using PSAT. The simulation results reveal: by using MPPT, the converting efficiency has been improved; by using islanding detection the requirement of grid connecting has been satisfied; by reactive power compensation the voltage stability has been improved dramatically.
