Structural vibration control is a new way of vibration-reducing technique, and using smart piezoelectric friction damper to control earthquake-induced vibration of structure is one of the effective methods. According to the working principle of friction damper and the converse piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric actuator, based on the request of the structural vibration reduction, the smart piezoelectric friction damper can real-time change the friction damper, thus able to realize the real-time control of the seismic response and improve the energy dissipation capacity of the friction damper, so it has intelligence characteristics. At present, some experts at home and abroad have done some experimental and theoretical research on structural vibration control based on smart piezoelectric friction damper and have achieved some results, but there are still some problems to be further improved and solved.In this paper, a systematic research on the semi-active control of seismic response of Benchmark model based on smart piezoelectric friction damper has been done, and the main content are as follows:First, according to the converse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramic and combining the characteristics of passive friction damper, a new type of smart piezoelectric friction damper has been designed in theory. Besides, its damping force model has been analyzed and the hysteresis loop has been given.Secondly, since the randomness of the future seismic waves and the differences between different calculation results, it's an important issue to choose reasonable seismic waves to conduct dynamic analysis and calculation to guarantee the reliability of the calculated result, so we should choose reasonable seismic records.Finally, the simulation analysis of seismic response of Benchmark model configured with smart piezoelectric friction damper under different seismic vibration control methods has been made by using MATLAB, and the effect of different control methods has been compared. Through the analysis and comparison, the results show that: the limit Hrovat optimal control has the best effect of the four semi-active control algorithms, the displacement and speed peaks of which are reduced by about 35 percent, the acceleration peak of which is reduced by about 25 percent. Besides, the design of optimal semi-active control force of the gauge Hrovat optimal control is analyzed and the robustness analysis of the control system to the uncertainty of structural stiffness and damping is carried out.
