By using the ellipsometry spectroscopic technology and in situ detection principle, the Automatic Oil Film Analyzer for Tin plate can rapidly measure the thickness of the oil film on cold-rolled tin plate surface. Its precision and speed are able to meet the requirements of continuous production in cold rolling plant. The products can be found in the market or in the laboratory of Baosteel Baoshan Branch, Yichang Cold-rolled Sheet Plant, Meishan Steel Plant.In this paper, the tin plate production process and characteristics are mentioned in the beginning, then the purpose, significance and the main analysis methods of the oil film thickness detection are introduced. The principle of detection was chosen according to the requirements of laboratory and cold rolling mill. The task of design is divided into 2 parts which are called measurement device and degreasing device. Discusions are made on the key point of design work, especially on the spectroscopic ellipsometry and in situ detection principle. A detail introduction of PC-software design is made while brief introductions on microprocessor software and ellipsometry spectroscopic software are given.Equipment acceptance and actual use can prove that the Automatic Oil Film Analyzer for Tin plate establish fast, stable, low-cost, low risk and other characteristics which shows advantages in this field.
