Metro as a solution to urban traffic congestion problems and an important tool for urban living environment, major cities have started construction or application in China. Metro environmental control system, which is an important part of the metro transport system, is the major energy consumer in metro operation. With economic development, China is growing energy problems. Communities are aware of the efficient use of energy and energy-saving importance of research. Therefore, metro environmental control system to reduce energy consumption is one of the main topics of the research on metro.In this paper, Wuxi Metro as the background, and to install a new typical platform screen door system of subway station, for example, research station hourly load calculation and conversion technology's energy saving potential for water system of station's air conditioning system, and the large system's ventilation system. The first analysis is kinds of heat load of metro station, which use a new PSD system, such as station's hourly heat load of passengers, the non-personnel heat load of large system and the fresh wind heat load. And calculate the basic data, which follow-up research needs, such as air conditioning load.Then, analyze the feasibility of variable flow and variable frequency of air-conditioning water system's chilled water system, cooling water system and cooling towers by thermodynamic method. Estimated the frequency conversion's energy saving effect of chilled water pumps and cooling water pump .The results show that the air conditioning water system can run by variable flow, chilled water, cooling water pump can run by frequency conversion, and the energy-saving effect is remarkable.Then, simulation the temperature field, velocity field of large station's platform, concourse under different operating conditions by CFD software, and analysis the results, which show that variable air volume does not wreck the system layout of air flow and still meet the comfort requirements. And calculate the initial, short and long term energy savings of VAV. The results show that the VAV of large system is feasible, AHU fan and exhaust fan can run frequency conversion. At the same time, fresh air is constant by calculating, so the small fresh fan can't run frequency conversion.The results show that the use of frequency conversion technology is an important energy-saving measure for the metro environmental control system, whose reasonable use can reduce operating costs, and improve economic efficiency.
