Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has obvious advantages , such as the variety of structure, small size, high power density and efficiency. Its application in electric vehicles has a higher value and good prospects for development. As the structure of permanent magnet synchronous motor is easy to change, it is optimized by various research institutions, using the design of improving motor structure and optimizing the magnetic circuit. So the motor performance is improved and the PMSM is making a greater space for development.In this paper, for the dq-axis reactance parameters of PMSM, the design analysis is from aspects of air gap length and slotted rotor. For each program the finite element analysis software is used for design and simulation. The variation of dq-axis reactance parameters and the changes of motor performance are pointed out.The magnetic circuit structure of rotor for wide speed PMSM is designed in this paper, the internal radial structure of the motor is selected to analysis. The basic structure of PMSM is introduced and the mathematical model in dq-axis is need, then the air gap flux density, dq-axis reactance parameters and no-load back EMF of the motor is discussed and analysised by using finite element analysis software. Finally, the features and shortcomings of each design are summarized through a comparative analysis.
