The fluid pressure pulse in water piping systems and its generated flow noise have badly influence on the environment, and leads to deterioration of the operation reliability of piping systems. It is one of the most extensive methods to install water mufflers in water piping systems to attenuate the fluid pressure pulse and noise.In this paper, O-ring seal theory is described. On the basis of this theory, a design project of broad spectrum water muffler and an idea of using two loads measurement method in the water muffler are proposed. A transmission loss test bed of muffler is successfully built and some explorative research on the transmission loss measurement of muffler is completed by using two load way. In experimental method, some useful conclusions are taken to guide both the structural design work of broad spectrum water muffler and the machining work of testers. Furthermore, the pedestals supporting the hydrophones are designed and processed to measure broad spectrum water muffler. Lastly, the pressure control device of water muffler, which is based on the MCU control mechanism, is successfully designed and tested by using experimental method. So, well control effect to the gas chamber pressure of broad spectrum water muffler is achieved, and then the anechoic effect of water muffler is normally ensured. |
