The field received in practical marine environments not only contains scalar information represented by pressure, but also consists of vector information, such as velocity, displacement, acceleration and pressure grade of the particle. The association processing method combined pressure and particle velocity has many advantages comparing to traditional processing method with only the pressure information. The study on acoustic vector field plays an important role in detection and estimation of targets, employing vector hydrophone. At present, most of acoustic modeling theories and investigations of propagation properties are based on pressure field. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a theoretical model using acoustic vector field to research both pressure field and vector field in underwater acoustic propagation.A model of acoustic vector field that mainly employs image source method is established to calculate pressure, particle velocity and particle displacement in the field under the condition of horizontal and slope seafloor in this paper. Then transmission losses of all the physical measurements are analyzed. The virtual source method is verified through comparison with the results which are derived from typical underwater acoustic propagation model, such as normal mode model, parabolic approximation method and ray theory.In order to realize numerical computation of the field simply, programs based on different calculation model, which are written to calculate acoustic field, such as KRAKEN, RAM and HARPO, are investigated completely. Furthermore, a software platform contains all of above programs along with procedure according to image source method, which is used to predict acoustic field is developed in the environment of VC++. The transmission loss curve of pressure, particle velocity and particle displacement, the puppet color map of the field, the ray trace, the sound speed profile, and the waveform of transmitted and received signals in time domain are realized to display in the interface. This software platform has characteristics of convenient manipulation, various functions and nice interface.
