With the development of economy, science and technology, urban traffic congestion problem is increasing, which affected the development of social economy seriously, how to solve the urban traffic congestion problem is governments key research projects. Several years'research and practice by experts and engineers proved that ITS(Intelligent Traffic Systems)can solve these problems well. But traffic system itself is multiple complexity, such as the characteristic of isomerism , distributed , and dynamic , together with its huge information, variety of content, and the difficulty for treatment. This leads that the actual technology can't satisfy Intelligent Traffic Systems'requirements in information share and cooperation, and it becomes the bottleneck blocking Intelligent Traffic Systems to progress.The grid technology in the application of transportation field just solved resources sharing and cooperation issues. These years, the grid technology is emerging into a kind of technology along with the development of intelligent transportation system, which attracted more and more attention and became the major research of solving the traffic problem. The prima aim of Grid technology is controlling and sharing various resources comprehensively, and eventually eliminate the acnode of resources, realize a comprehensive resource sharing and collaborative operation, take full advantage of resource on internet and solve the intelligent transportation system Bottleneck problems.After analyzing and researching the regional transportation coordination control basic theory and the grid technology, this paper described stratification system structure of the regional transportation grid, established a layered, service-oriented grid system, made regional traffic control middleware model and regional traffic intersection signal optimization model, realized the regional traffic control optimization model for distributed computing based on traffic grid, solved the heterogeneous resources sharing and realized the regional transportation coordination control quickly solve.
