Traditional un-controlled diode rectifier and phase controlled rectifier consisted of half-controlled thyristor, have some drawbacks: low line side power factor, big current harmonics and irreversible energy flow. PWM rectifier based on full-controlled-device IGBT can make the line side current approach to sine wave, work in the state of high power factor, filter line side harmonics distortion of rectifier and save energy conservation. It has many advantages such as fast dynamic response, controlled DC voltage and anti-disturbance performance.PWM rectifier is studied in this paper, including main circuit, mathematical models of three coordinate system, control strategies, the design and choice of main circuit parameters and hardware. The model of three-phase VSR is designed based on indirect and direct control strategies. The fixed switching frequency control strategy is highlighted by the paper. Besides, it focuses on the new algorithm SVPWM of converter which have favorable steady and dynamic state performance compared with SPWM. The advantages of three-phase PWM rectifier are verified in comparison with traditional rectifier through the simulation using MATLAB.With the development of large-scale integrated circuits and computer, rectifier controlled based on microcomputer will become the trend of rectifier controllers in the future. Fast improvement in rectifier control method set a higher requirement for the computation of the rectifier controller based on microcomputer. According to the requirement, the paper studies and designs the rectifier controller by using DSP -TMS320F2812 as the center. Based on SVPWM of the fixed switching frequency control strategies, the experimental results show that every function of the PWM rectifier is according with C language.
