With the rapid development of economy and increasing scarcity of energy nowadays, renewable energy has become the focus of attention of the community. Vibration is a fairly common phenomenon in nature. However, this source of power, absorbed by dampers or ignored, is wasted. To effectively use it, a variety of different vibration energy/power conversion devices are developed at home and abroad. Linear micro-vibration energy/electricity converter designed in this paper is one kind of them.Based on the Ansoft Maxwell, mover of the model, which consists of ferromagnetic materials and magnets with different arrangement and numbers, is designed on the structure and optimized with no-load emf as the objective function and magnetic induction, cross-sectional area and number of coils as the variable. Joining one ferromagnetic doughnut-shaped roll column between two adjoining groups of mutually exclusive magnets is finally confirmed as the structure of the mover. And, with this kind of mover, the converter not only has simple structure, small size, light weight and high no-load emf value, but can damping while absorbing vibration.By using the magnetic finite element method, stator winding inductance is calculated and under this condition the no-load magnetic field, the load voltage and current, maximum power and efficiency are computed by the field-circuit coupling method. The results show that the maximum value of the no-load magnetic induction, terminal voltage of the load and current is, respectively, 1.07T, 1.35V, 0.15A. In addition, the value of the maximum power and efficiency is 0.103W and 68.9%. Besides, based on the virtual instrument technology the no-load emf is measured under the different vibration frequency. The experimental results demonstrate that the value of no-load emf reaches the highest of 2.4V at frequency of 11.2 Hz.The prototype applies to energy conversion at low frequencies. The results obtained in this paper are valuable references in the intensively study of vibration energy/power transformation.
